[Roppongi] What's actually open 24 hours (food, shopping, killing time)

[Official Guide] Editor-written FAQ. Locals & travelers — please add updates in the comments; things change fast.

Short answer: Even at 4am you can eat, shop and stay warm in Roppongi: 24h gyudon chains and ramen, Don Quijote for shopping, convenience stores everywhere, and family restaurants for a long sit-down.

Open around the clock:

  • Food — gyudon chains (Sukiya / Matsuya / Yoshinoya) and late-night ramen shops around the crossing. Kebab stands also run late on weekends.
  • Don Quijote — the giant discount store, open 24h. Souvenirs, snacks, phone chargers, spare clothes — weirdly useful at 3am.
  • Family restaurants — a long, warm sit with a drink bar while you wait for the first train (~5am).
  • Convenience stores — always. ATM, food, drinks, umbrella, phone charge.

Double-check yourself: “24h” signs change — confirm on Google Maps “open now” before heading somewhere specific.

Safety note: late-night Roppongi has aggressive touts. Whatever they offer — bar, club, “massage” — the answer is a firm no + keep walking. See our guide to avoiding the classic traps.
